Not a true jasper, Bumblebee is a stone made of layers of volcanic matter that contains elements like sulphur and arsenic (the beautiful yellow color), calcium and Aragonite (white), Orpiment (bright orange), and Pyrite (black.)

*Because Bumblebee Jasper contains sulphur, arsenic, and orpiment it is considered to be a highly toxic stone to touch in the raw and its dust should be avoided at all costs. Even tumbled and sealed pieces like the ones we have here should never be used in the making of elixirs or crystal waters, at no time should you consume liquids or foods that were made with Bumblebee Jasper infusions.

Tumbled stones are smaller pieces of crystals and other minerals that have been polished to smooth out any rough edges and to accentuate natural features. This process both strengthens and enhances the stone and is one of the most popular ways to work with stones. Pieces are generally .5 in – 2 in long and usually weigh between 2 – 8 grams, depending on type.

Tumbled stones are excellent to work with for crystal mapping (also known as crystal gridding), as pocket pieces, and are the best way to try out a stone before committing to a larger specimen. Many collectors begin their journey with a mineral by working with its tumbled variety.

While in our care, cleansings are performed regularly on our stones, but you should also feel empowered to cleanse this stone upon receiving it. We recommend cleansing this stone with sun/moonlight, sound, or burying.
